WHAT DOES “HEALTHY EXERCISE” ACTUALLY MEAN?

When we think of health and exercise, we usually have very specific exercises in mind. But why is it important to take a holistic view of the term “movement” ?

Being able to move cleanly and well is the basis of solid health. Because when it comes to moving, nature does not forgive mistakes. Sooner or later we get injured when we can no longer execute natural human movements without errors. Especially with persistent or highly intensive training methods - there are no state-of-the-art aids to help - correct execution is the be-all and end-all.

Movement is more than just an exercise. Health is exercising a little more than a couple of times. At EVO we are convinced that health can only be optimized by improving the original movement patterns - with a focus on balance, strength and coordination. A skillful, goal-oriented but nevertheless playful execution of the elementary, human movements keeps us permanently healthy and fit.

How it works? Here are a few guidelines:

· SMART MOVEMENT
Firsts of all: be aware of your environment. Get involved with them while you exercise. Take off your headphones, listen to your body. Take off your shoes, just go barefoot. Pay close attention to your posture. Feel the rhythm of your body when you move.

·         PURPOSEFUL MOVEMENT

Include the basics of natural human movement in your training plan: balancing, crouching, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, hanging, climbing, twisting, jumping, and running. These are the movement patterns that have had the greatest importance in our everyday life since time immemorial - those movements for which our body is made.

·         PLAYFUL MOVEMENT

Take your time and learn new movements. It's not about sets or repetitions, it's just about curiosity. Break the rules - have fun , your moving body. Try the climbing wall, hang along the bars, crawl on the ground or look at the world upside down from a handstand.
